What happens during each session
-
During our initial consultation & massage session, we'll take the time to get to know your dog and understand their individual needs. This includes discussing their health history, lifestyle and activity levels, alongside a gait and postural assessment to observe how they move and carry themselves.
-
I'll also assess their posture alignment and muscular balance, looking at areas that may benefits from further attention.
-
Your initial consult will also include their first massage session where I use core techniques to target stress points and release areas of tension using deep tissue massage. Alongside, gentle mobilisations, cranial & digit work, passive movements and appropriate stretches may also be incorporated to support flexibility and range of motion.
Aftercare
-
I will provide you will a report after our initial session, which may require a copy to be sent to your vet (with your consent).
-
The report will include details of my findings and advice on what exercise and care is needed for the first 24 hours after therapy.
-
Most cases require your dog to limit exercise to on lead only or rest entirely.
-
Your dog may require repeat maintenance sessions.
Customized Packages
I offer customized massage packages to cater to your dog's specific needs, ensuring they receive the best possible care. While some dogs benefit from maintenance sessions every 4-6 weeks, others may need sessions closer together post-surgery to aid recovery. For maximum benefit, I recommended your dog's first two sessions are spaced 10-14 days apart to allow me to build on the tissue changes from the first visit.
